ROME, April 8 - John Cabot University gym-goers are finding
it difficult to feel the burn after the university-affiliated gym Farnese Fitness began enforcing new rules that turn students away at the door.
Farnese Fitness, located directly across
from Ponte Sisto, has maintained a partnership with JCU for students and staff to work out at the gym.
Until recently, students were enjoying their daily workouts with little complaints. This changed after a school-wide email was sent out notifying all students and staff that entry would be barred unless they followed a list of rules. The email stated that all gym-goers must wear gloves every time they use a machine, that they must bring their own towels, and that they must wear clean gym shoes or they would be prohibited from entering the workout area. Posted at the front desk is a laminated sign that list all of these rules.
The rules have baffled and angered many students and staffers who now find it difficult to workout on a daily basis.
