The Caritas shelter and soup kitchen in Rome is looking for a small group of students to volunteer for the evening of Monday, April 14. Interested students should sign up in the JCU Student Government Office no later than Friday.
Volunteers will help by serving food and working at the sign-in desk in the kitchen area from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Caritas is a Catholic aid organization. Its shelter is located just steps away from Termini Station, on Via Marsala, 109. The well-known shelter has hosted popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI. The Caritas group offers a variety of services, from hair cuts to hot meals.
For those interested, Caritas workers ask that volunteers arrive at 4:30 p.m. Once at the gate, ask for Carlo and identify yourself as a John Cabot University student.
Hi, I'm thinking of coming to Rome in September to learn the language for 6-8 weeks and was looking for some paid or unpaid wirk. Was wondering if anyone could help? Please email me on [email protected]
